It is merely executing a script, however elaborate. To attribute free will to such an entity would be to misunderstand the nature of determinism. It would be akin to saying a river has free will in choosing its path, when in reality, gravity and terrain dictate its course. The AI may experience a subjective sense of making a choice, but this experience does not alter the objective reality of its determined operations.
